By April 3, 2020No Comments

We get a lot of questions about referrals and insurance coverage for massage. We’ve got some answers to your FAQs below:

Q:  Do I need a referral from my doctor to go to massage therapy?
A:  Whether or not a referral is requires depends on your insurance plan and why you are seeking massage therapy.  Some plans require a referral from your primary care provider in order for massage therapy to be covered by your insurance.

Q: Will my insurance plan cover massage therapy?
A:  Some insurance companies cover massage therapy as part of your health plan. We will check your benefits before you come in for your first appointment, so you know what to expect as far as coverage and payment.

Q:  Will massage be covered under my motor vehicle accident or workers’ compensation claim?
A:   Massage therapy is a common intervention for injuries sustained from motor vehicle and work accidents.  Although each situation is unique, massage therapy may be covered under your claim.  We will check with your auto or work insurance about coverage.
